Boyce Thompson Arboretum welcomes volunteers
Would you enjoy getting your hands dirty in the garden while learning about desert plants from Arboretum horticulturists and groundskeepers? Or do you prefer keeping them keyboard-clean to work in an office environment? Arizonans who have time, skills and positive energy to share are welcome to join our volunteer program!
Your don't have to be a botanical expert to volunteer at the arboretum, although, of course, Master Gardeners and horticulturists are always welcome! Whether your skills are botanical, clerical, or social please pay a visit or call the Arboretum to learn more about the wide range of volunteer positions we have available. Arboretum assistants help weed the gardens, grow and propagate greenhouse plants, lead bird walks and botanical tours and even help staff the business office and gift shop. Volunteers assist with special events such as the Spring and Fall plant sales, Australia Day, the Herb Festival and our Welcome Back Buzzards event.
These are just a few of the opportunities for volunteers at the Arboretum, and the rewards include the chance to work alongside - and learn from - horticulturists and other staff members.
