Always use international units.  Most certainly a 10 gallon aquarium or 2 acre woodlot are easy for you to envision but to most of the world these measures are as foreign a furlongs or cubits.  If you are not sure what the international measure is then you need to find out by checking the SI Units.  In this case the 'ha=hectare'.
