Resources
Watershed
The
Master Watershed Steward Program in Gila County provides education
to citizens of the county to equip them to serve their communitites
in enhancing local natural resources. |
The
program consists of a series of educational sessions, including
field trips. Some of the topics covered in the program are:
- geology
- climate
- watershed and
stream processes
- soils and erosion
- vegetation and
wildlife, and
- water related
issues.

| After
completing the training sessions, participants are expected to
volunteer 40 hours on a watershed enhancement project in their
community or on their own land to apply the information and skills
received from the program. Projects may include on-the-ground
enhancement activities, monitoring, survey or assessment, community
education, curriculum development or create your own! |
