Size: 6-20ft with equal spread; accepts shaping to any size
Leaves: simple, thick and waxy; dark green above, lighter underneath margin is opaque and blunt
Flowers: perfect, creamy white, in clusters; bloom in early spring (before L. lucidum)
Fruit: small dark berries, poisonous
Stems/Trunks: gray, not ornamental
Range/Origin: Japan
Hardiness: to 20° F and below
