Cintia M Coelho received the BS degreee in Biology from the Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora in 1994. In 1997 she received the MS degree in genetics and plant breeeding from the Universidade Federal de Lavras. During the master program she worked in the characterization of proteins present in the endosperm of maize with the objective of altering the protein fractions that determine nutricional value at EMBRAPA-CNPMS (Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuaria). In 1998 she joined Brian A Larkins laboratory where she is interested in the molecular and biochemical characterization of the cyclin dependent kinase inhibitor during the endoreduplication process in maize endosperm. She is also interested in mapping QTL’s involved with this process
