Seeing this as an opportunity to get closer to the Southern California racing circuit, he jumped at the chance. Not knowing about the RTIP yet, he managed a business in the Del Mar area for many passionless years until he read Bob Baffert’s book “Dirt Road to the Derby”, in which Baffert described a university that had a program designed specifically for people who wanted to be in the industry.
