The Largest Field Scanalyzer in the World

We will need 70% more food by 2050. We have to meet this goal while at the same time increasing our protection of the environment. The Maricopa Agricultural Center is building this future by conducting precision agriculture research on a scale never seen before. As part of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at the University of Arizona, this center is strategically placed to not only grow more with less in the deserts of Arizona, but lead the way forward for all drought- and heat wave-threatened regions around the world.

CALS Aids Myanmar's Seafood Industry

The University has been awarded more than $1.7 million from USAID to help develop aquaculture in Myanmar.

A University of Arizona-led partnership was awarded a grant of more than $1.7 million from the United States Agency for International Development to help develop an aquaculture industry that will be central to Myanmar's strategy to rejoin the global economy.

Improving Economies

Raymundo Ocampo's passion is to bring a small piece of his Oaxacan heritage to the guests of Westward Look Resort. For years, he has been grateful to his UA Cooperative Extension mentor, Paul Besse, for giving him the knowledge he needs to be successful as a landscape manager there. Now, he has the opportunity not only to live out his passion, but give back as a mentor in Cooperative Extension's Smartscape program.

Why Extension?

We are where you are.

UA Cooperative Extension operates in all 15 Arizona counties and on five reservations. While Extension agents, specialists, staff and volunteers continue to share knowledge in classrooms and homes and on fields and farms, technology has allowed us to connect with people digitally, too, through tools such as YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and mobile apps.

2 UA Colleges Collaborate to Form Law and Policy Center

The new center will include a law clinic staffed by students from two UA colleges who will work directly with ranchers, farmers, miners and others.

The Natural Resource Users Law and Policy Center - the first of its kind in the nation - has been launched at the University of Arizona to address the currently unmet legal needs of ranchers, farmers, miners and others whose business involves the use of natural resources.
