Whether you are a DIYer or are hiring a professional, this class will help you understand how to set up, maintain, change and troubleshoot a drip irrigation system like a pro! Learn about the pvc lines, tubing, connections, emitters, tools and how to put it all together to create an efficient drip system…in the comfort of an air conditioned classroom.

Incorrect watering is not only detrimental to plants, but is one of the biggest residential water wasting practices.

Make sure to also attend our Irrigation Controllers & Scheduling class to learn how to use your drip irrigation system to have healthier plants while saving water!

PLEASE NOTE: Part 1 and Part 2 can be taken in any order
Instructor: Steve Mallgren

Pre-Registration Required. If there is space available in the class or on the waiting list, you can access it through the REGISTER button (in green, under the map).

Session 1: Base Sheet Preparation, Material Research Resources and Ideal Development
Session 2: Integration of information and ideas into Base Plan
Session 3: Design Review/Revision, Discussion of Construction Sequencing, Techniques, Materials, Cost Estimating

Supplies needed to complete your project include:
11 x 17 graph paper ¼” or 1/8″ grid
3 7/8″ – 7 1/4″ Circle Template
45 degree triangle
All purpose eraser
Graphic pencils (hard)

Landscape Designer Roger Putney has designed well over 2,000 landscapes for Tucson residents over the past 20+ years.  He started out in the landscape maintenance business and, after trying to maintain landscapes that weren’t working (in so many ways!), decided to earn a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Arizona.  He continues to work in the nursery business and to assist customers with achieving their desired look while having success with their plants.  He has extensive first-hand knowledge and experience in every aspect – from designing and installing to maintaining landscapes in our desert environment.

Class size is very limited (and there is high demand), so please register only if you are certain that you are able to attend all three classes! Registering for any class signs you up for all three.
